About

About Triple Health Clinic

Personal experience shaped a different approach to caring for midlife women.

Triple Health Clinic exists because Donna Wirt lived an experience that too many women know all too well: she knew something was wrong, but her laboratory results did not provide clear answers, and the conventional healthcare system offered little guidance. Instead of accepting that, she went back to school. She deepened her training. She opened a clinic.

Today, she is able to give other women the answers and care she once desperately needed herself.

Meet Donna

"I became the provider I wish I'd had."

Donna Wirt has worked in healthcare for 34 years. She began her nursing career in 1992, earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 2000, and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Clarke University in Dubuque in 2024.

Like many of her patients, Donna experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find clear answers and meaningful support during menopause. Her symptoms were minimized, standard testing offered few explanations, and the conventional healthcare system left her unsure where to turn. That experience changed the direction of her career. At age 51, she returned to school, completed advanced functional medicine training through the School of Applied Functional Medicine, and became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

Donna founded Triple Health Clinic with a mission that is both clinical and personal: to create a place where midlife women receive the time, attention, education, and depth of evaluation needed to make informed decisions about their health. Here, symptoms are taken seriously, contributing factors are considered, and care is personalized to each woman’s history, needs, risks, and goals.

"If you change the woman, you change the world."

— Donna Wirt, DNP, FNP-BC, MSCP

Donna was born and raised in the Burlington–West Burlington area and has called Mediapolis home for more than 30 years. She and her husband of 32 years are the proud parents of two children. This is where Donna lives, works, and has raised her family. This work is personal. This place is home.

Credentials & training you can trust.

Donna brings 34 years of clinical experience to the care she provides, along with advanced training in menopause and functional medicine.

What the MSCP credential means—and why it matters.

The Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential is awarded to licensed healthcare professionals who successfully complete a comprehensive certification examination focused on perimenopause, menopause, and midlife women’s health.

Earning the MSCP credential reflects a higher level of knowledge and expertise in caring for women through the menopause transition and beyond.

For women in Burlington and throughout Iowa, Donna’s certification provides access to a locally rooted provider with dedicated training and recognized expertise in menopause care.

The principles that guide our care.

We listen — really listen.

Your story matters. Your history matters. Your symptoms matter. We give you the time to tell us everything.

We personalize your care.

Your health history, symptoms, current medications and supplements, individual risks, preferences, and goals guide the recommendations we make together.

We treat the whole person.

Not every midlife symptom is caused by perimenopause or menopause alone. We consider thyroid function, metabolic and nutritional health, digestive concerns, lifestyle, and other relevant factors that may be influencing how you feel.

We stay current.

Menopause medicine continues to evolve. Donna maintains her MSCP credential and pursues ongoing education so her care remains grounded in current evidence.

We believe you.

You deserve to have your symptoms heard and thoughtfully evaluated—even when previous testing has not provided a clear explanation.

We make decisions together.

We explain your options, discuss potential benefits and risks, respect your preferences, and adjust your plan as your needs change.

Rooted in this community. Committed to the women who call it home.

Triple Health Clinic is an independent, locally owned clinic founded by a woman who grew up here, raised her family here, and chose to build her life’s work here. Donna created Triple Health Clinic to bring thoughtful, personalized midlife care to women in the community she knows and loves.

Donna understands the challenges women in rural and smaller Iowa communities may face when looking for menopause-focused care. Triple Health Clinic offers in-person appointments in Burlington and telehealth visits throughout Iowa—because geographic distance should not stand between a midlife woman and specialized menopause care.

Whether you visit us in person or connect through telehealth, you can expect personal attention, thoughtful guidance, and care shaped around your individual needs.
