ABOUT TRIPLE HEALTH CLINIC

Built by a woman who needed it. Created for women who deserve better.

Donna Wirt, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, MSCP, has worked in health care for 34 years. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Clarke University in 2024. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

But her credentials are only part of what she brings to Triple Health Clinic. Donna also understands menopause personally—she has lived many of the challenges her patients are experiencing.

Like so many of the women she now cares for, Donna experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find answers when you don’t feel like yourself, don’t understand what is happening, and are told everything is “normal.” That experience deepened her commitment to midlife women’s health, led her to pursue advanced functional medicine training, and shaped the kind of care she wanted to provide.

Even before returning to school to become a nurse practitioner, Donna dreamed of opening her own clinic. Over time, that vision became clear: a clinic devoted to caring for women through midlife. She envisioned a place where women are heard, their symptoms are taken seriously, and care is built around the whole person.

Born and raised in Burlington and a proud Mediapolis resident for more than 30 years, Donna isn’t just a provider—she’s a neighbor. This work isn’t her profession. It’s her calling.

"If you change the woman, you change the world."

Donna Wirt, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, MSCP

This isn't the care you've been getting. It's the care you've been looking for.

You have shared your symptoms, completed bloodwork, and still been left without a clear understanding of why you don’t feel like yourself. At Triple Health Clinic, we take a different approach.

All new patients begin with our in-depth 12-Week Foundations Program, starting with a comprehensive 75-minute initial appointment. Rather than trying to address everything in a single visit, we use a functional medicine approach to understand your symptoms in context. We review your health history, medications, supplements, and laboratory results, consider relevant contributing factors, and order additional targeted testing when appropriate.

Over the next 12 weeks, included follow-up visits give us time to work with you to implement your personalized treatment plan, evaluate your response, and make thoughtful adjustments. Secure messaging provides additional support and a way to ask questions between appointments. The program is designed to give you a clearer understanding of your health and a well-defined plan for ongoing care.

We look deeper.

Through thoughtful evaluation and targeted testing, we look beyond isolated symptoms to identify the factors affecting how you feel.

We explain hormone therapy.

When appropriate, hormone therapy may be one of your options. We use an evidence-based approach to explain the potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and available formulations so you can make an informed decision about your care.

We consider the whole person.

Hormonal health can be influenced by thyroid function, metabolic health, nutrition, sleep, stress, and other factors. We consider the broader picture—not just an individual symptom or laboratory result.

Your plan is built around you.

Your care plan reflects your symptoms, health history, lab findings, preferences, and goals—and evolves as your needs change.

How We Care for Women Through Midlife

Perimenopause And Menopause Care Are At The Center Of What We Do.

Personalized, evidence-based care for cycle changes, hot flashes, night sweats, disrupted sleep, mood changes, brain fog, weight and body composition changes, vaginal and urinary symptoms, sexual health concerns, and other changes of midlife. We consider your symptoms, menopause and health history, current medications and supplements, individual risks, preferences, and goals. When appropriate, we discuss hormone therapy, nonhormone therapies, and supportive lifestyle strategies.

Thyroid Health
Thyroid symptoms can overlap with symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. That’s why thyroid function is evaluated as part of every new patient assessment. We order and interpret appropriate thyroid testing and provide treatment when thyroid dysfunction is identified.

Metabolic Health
Insulin resistance and changes in blood sugar, cholesterol, weight, and body composition can affect how you feel during midlife and influence your long-term health. When metabolic dysfunction is identified, we develop a personalized plan that may include nutrition, movement, supplements, or medication.

Nutrient Deficiencies
Iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and other nutrient deficiencies can contribute to fatigue, brain fog, and symptoms that may overlap with menopause. Appropriate laboratory testing helps us identify deficiencies, guide treatment, and monitor your response.

Digestive Health
Digestive symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, and abdominal discomfort can affect nutrition, medication tolerance, and quality of life. When present, these concerns are addressed as part of your overall menopause care—not as a stand-alone gut health consultation.
